Selena Gomez easily sees the positive in the negative. She is amazed by the passion of Justin Bieber fans who hate her!

Selena Gomez easily sees the positive in the negative. She is amazed by the passion of Justin Bieber fans who hate her!
During a call-in to Z104.8 recently, while discussing boyfriend Justin Bieber, Selena was asked how she coped with Bieber fans who openly hate her.
Her response:
"It's a little odd, but I mean I understand it completely. What's amazing to me is to see how many passionate fans there are. So obviously you've just got to think of the fans first, and that's okay."
Gomez noted that her fan base was distinct from Justin's.
"It's kind of cool we have our own individuals."

Formula One fashion grips Delhi

Eat F1, drink F1, and of course, wear it on your sleeve — that’s how Delhi’s preparing for the first Indian Grand Prix. The event, which will take place from October 28-30 at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, has kicked off a new fashion trend, with shopkeepers reporting a
phenomenal sale of Formula One merchandise in the last few days. The hottest selling items include team jerseys, caps, accessories such as bags and key chains, checkered flags for cheering and even tea cups.

“Our latest F1 collection is a bestseller. And, the sales in Delhi are much higher than in other metros,” says Sajid Shamim, brand director, Reebok India, official sportswear partner for Force India. Online retailer Inkfruit has sold 2,500 tees in the past week, which is twice the number of other designs sold.

And, it’s not just apparel. “Over the last week, many people bought checkered flag table covers, race-car print balloons and even race eyewear for home parties,” says Aditya Kapur of Party Hunterz, a theme party store.

Charles Whitmore of UK-based OnPole.com, one of the biggest global suppliers of motorsport merchandise, says, “There is always an increase in the sales closer to the event, but what is interesting is that the sales increase even more after the event. We saw a radical increase from Singapore and Korea after the events there, and we are expecting the same from India.” Fans say they still can’t get enough. “I couldn’t manage the race tickets, so I’m doing all I can to get the feel of it. I’ve bought a jersey and a tee, now for mini cars to do up my desk,” says Anshum Grover, 27.

Race gear up for grabs
Team jerseys and tees (Rs300 onwards)
Checkered flags (Rs100)
Vuvuzelas (Rs250)
Keychains (Rs75)
Tea cups (Rs250 for set of 8)

NILIT to exhibit its innovative fibers at Intertextile

NILIT , a global leader in the production of nylon 6.6, announced it will be displaying many of its revolutionary yarn, including NILIT Innergy, at the upcoming Intertextile Shanghai 2011 tradeshow. At the show, NILIT will also showcase the NILIT BodyFashion Trendbook for Spring/Summer 2013. Intertextile Shanghai is the leading international trade fair for apparel fabrics and accessories held yearly in China. It is set to take place October 18th-21st, 2011 in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The NILIT exhibit will be in Hall W3, Stand E42/F47.

Breaking new ground in yarn innovation

NILIT specializes in developing yarns with exceptional performance properties. NILIT Innergy is NILIT’s latest, cutting-edge fiber to reach the market. Made from nylon 6.6, NILIT Innergy has a built-in, naturally occurring mineral additive that creates far infrared ray (FIR) emissions. Garment made with NILIT Innergy yarns invigorate the body, increase feelings of well-being and help to reduce the appearance of cellulite. This makes the yarn perfect for shapers, hosiery, lingerie, medical socks, gloves and sportswear. Recently launched, visitors at Intertextile Shanghai will have the opportunity to experience firsthand this unique fiber.

In addition, numerous other NILIT yarns will be on display at the Intertextile Show. Among the yarns to be highlighted are: NILIT Softex - superior, full dull microfiber yarn that delivers supreme softness and rich coloration, NILIT Aquarius – with moisture management properties built-in to the fiber and NILIT Ecocare - recycled yarn with excellent color depth and dye uniformity.

Likewise, NILIT’s new bodyfashion trendbook for Spring/Summer 2013 will also be presented. The book features collections designed and conceived by NILIT fashion consultant Ilana Joselowitz. Bodywear and activewear are the focus of this year’s collection. Nilit offers a range of technologically advanced yarns that have been engineered to provide enhanced comfort and performance.

Tibi: Styled By Kling

It’s been a busy year for Elin Kling. With her successful Web site, Style by Kling (currently hosted by umbrella site NowManifest), as a jumping-off point, the Swedish style blogger designed a collection for H&M (the first blogger to do so for the retailer), started up a magazine called StyleBy, and is slated to launch her own clothing line, Nowhere, in October.

Now Kling is adding another notch to her belt with a new gig styling Tibi’s Spring 2012 runway show and its Spring ad campaign, which will star Wonderland editor (and fellow street-style blog regular) Julia Sarr-Jamois. (Despite appearing on the same Web sites for months, the stylist and editor-turned-model haven’t yet met.)

On a recent visit to the Tibi showroom, a coffee table littered with empty coffee cups from Starbucks and Le Pain Quotidien revealed that Kling and Tibi designer Amy Smilovic had been hard at work since 8 a.m., putting together looks and hashing out the run of show. “I approach it like I approach my magazine,” Kling tells Style.com. “I want to open with something that pops, then ease into something more relaxed.”

For Smilovic, bringing Kling on board was an easy choice. “Girls want to look like her,” the designer said. (Kling picked up a sharp blazer and laughed. “I just want to wear suits all the time.”) For the past few seasons, Tibi has been moving away from the print party dresses it has been known for and focusing instead on the clean, relaxed kind of sportswear one might see Elin wearing on her blog. “She’s always feminine and put-together, but with a touch of androgyny,” Smilovic said. “It was a perfect fit for us.” Next week, Kling will be buzzing around backstage, adjusting all the models before they do their turns on the runway. For her fashion-show styling debut, Kling’s strategy is simple: “I just want to look at each girl and be jealous of her.”
