London Fashion - summer style.

Macdonald unveiled his spring and summer collection for next year in Whitehall’s historic Banqueting House with the designer using sheer fabrics, cutaways and extreme mini-dresses on his models.
Women in black dresses paraded down the catwalk moments before the show started with arms aloft as they sprayed the air with perfume to help set the mood for the outfits.

With George Gershwin’s classic Summertime playing in the background, guests sipped on lemon-accented peach juice mixed with jasmine tea, served in Martini glasses and topped with a fresh flower petal.

Supermodel Elle Macpherson was among the spectators and she was seen going backstage after the show to congratulate the designer.

Elsewhere, models wearing knee-length dresses in hues of yellow, peach and orange revealed Conran’s spring and summer collection.

Some of the biggest names – including Vivienne Westwood and Burberry – are still to come but today will take a sombre turn as the fashion world holds a memorial service to remember the late fashion icon Alexander McQueen.
